This unassuming piece of warped metal with a decidedly cool interior pattern is the remains of an American supplied, Bosnian/Croat M67 fragmentation grenade. It was thrown at a passing “Kiwi Company” NZ M113A1 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) that was part of a United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) convoy during operations in former Yugoslavia. New Zealand had a presence in Bosnia from 1992 through to 2007. The grenade failed to detonate properly and was recovered after the incident.
